uddy is an orange monster and he is hungry. When he comes across three bunnies playing checkers Buddy cries out,
'I'm going to eat all you bunnies!'
'
No, please, no! We were about to make cupcakes!
' respond the bunnies.
'
What kind of monster do you think I am? Cupcakes first. Bunnies for dessert,
' says Buddy.

hile the cupcakes are in the oven, Buddy and the bunnies play hide-and-seek. Then Buddy eats too many cupcakes and is totally full. Now he doesn't have room for the bunnies.

s the days pass Buddy returns and the bunnies (whose numbers increase daily) find other ploys to avoid being consumed by the monster. Of course we are working up to the story's humorous punch line – which is a variation of '
Didn't your mom ever tell you don't play with your food!
'

ho would have thought bunnies could be so clever if not downright devious!

his endearing monster and his numerous furry companions will have your preschooler giggling as you read aloud this silly story about some pretty unlikely friends.
