irdie's Mom has announced it is time for Birdie to get a
big girl
hairdo. Before their appointment at the hair salon Birdie has to decide what style would work best for her.
T
hen it is off for the new do. When she looks in the mirror Birdie is so, so surprised. Who is that pretty little girl? All her friends think she looks really great too.
U
nfortunately, after a day at the playground the new hair style didn't hold up very well. Birdie was heartbroken. '
Mommy knelt down and looked right into Birdie's eyes. 'But, my beautiful Birdie, now it's even better. It looks like YOU,'
' her mother said.

be yourself
message here is pretty hard to miss and Birdie does realize that hair doesn't make the person in this cute story. This is the perfect sequel to the other two picture books about Birdie getting big girl shoes and a big girl dress. Little girls five and older will appreciate Birdie's desire to emulate the
big girls
, but all in good time this series seems to say. Mom and Dad will no doubt agree!
