is job is to wake up Farmer Tim and his family every morning with a '
Cock-a-doodle-doo!
' But Rupert has a hard time waking up himself each day. When he complains to his friend, Sherman the sheep, his buddy says, '
Why don't you teach me how to crow? I'll wake everybody up – and you can sleep late!
'
T
his may sound like a solution to Rupert's problem but everyone knows sheep can't crow like roosters. But no matter! When the well-meaning Sherman assumes the wake-up chore, things don't go according to plan. In fact, as you'll see, the barnyard animals and Farmer Tim's family are in for a real surprise.
R
upert realizes that he can't delegate the task of the morning wake-up call but perhaps, more importantly, Sherman and his fellow sheep discover a new talent. It is perhaps not what you expect when you begin reading this picture book but it is a pleasant surprise.
C
artoonist Mike Twohy's wry humor and his amusing illustrations make this not only an entertaining story but one both children and adults will enjoy reading together.
