I love you when you are sad.' The text goes on to mention a number of other situations where the parent's love will always be there. It doesn't matter whether the youngster is brave or scared, asleep or awake, or feeling ill. Simple cartoon characters highlighted by bright, eye-catching background colors will attract the toddler's attention and the sentiments expressed here are so reassuring that the child will probably want to have this book read over and over at story time. On the book's cover a padded big, red heart with a child with open arms in the center issues a warm welcome. It invites the youngster to open the book up and see what's inside.
