A
little pricier than most concept books, this one's lacelike die-cut paper illustrations really
pop
because they are set against very eye appealing solid colors.
M
ounted on these bright colors, the elegant 2D images almost appear to be 3D. The intricate scenes include a dog going up and down a set of stairs, tall and short, big and small animals, a bird up high and down low in a tree, a rabbit in and out of a house, fast and slow critters and animals near and far away.
G
iven the nature of the book's design and the concepts it introduces, this beautiful book would be more appropriate for an older child. The suggested age is three and older but I think a youngster 18 months or so would also benefit from this reading experience.
A
dults who collect children's books would definitely find this stunning volume to be a welcome addition to their libraries.
