You'll find illustrations of a meadowlark, spotted owls, some frogs, a loon, red-winged blackbird, a few crickets, a beautiful Tundra Swan, three wolves, a solitary elk, some bees, a rattlesnake and a marmot on these pages. Along with the large illustrations, the text explains something about each of the critters and the sounds they make. This volume offers a fun way to explore some of the animals of the Pacific Northwest. Its watercolors by Andrea Gabriel are big and bold, thus complementing the rhymed and informative narrative that Port Townsend, Washington, resident Jennifer Blomgren provides.
