ot only does this picture book for toddlers underscore some of the milestones that they reach as they mature, but it also assures the youngster that being the first child in the family is something special that Mom and Dad will never forget.

elebrating such
firsts
as the first smile, blowing a kiss, crawling, and making a snow angel, the events the author touches upon are moments that parents remember and cherish. But the message at the end of the book is also important.

One day there may be a second – or a third - to sleep in the basket with the yellow ribbon wound round. But you will always be the first.

his would be the ideal picture book to introduce into a family if another child is expected. Sometimes an
only child
needs reassurance that he or she will still be an important member of the household after the new arrival appears on the scene.
