A
picture book for children two years of age and older,
The Tiny King
introduces a very small king who lives in a very big, lonely castle. The tiny king is guarded by many big soldiers. He eats at a big table, sleeps in a big bed and bathes in a huge tub.
T
he tiny king is not having much fun and finds his existence less than satisfactory. All that changes one day, though, when the tiny king meets a big princess. He asks her to be his queen and she agrees. Soon they are blessed with lot of royal children.
N
ow the big castle and all its oversized furniture and rooms is just right. With such a big family the king needs all the extra space and, of course, he is no longer lonely. There's a lot going on now in the tiny king's life!

lthough this story is a fun read, it is the bright, bold cutouts and the whimsical employment of the collage technique by Japanese artist Taro Miura that makes this such an attractive and eye-catching picture book. Miura is an award winning illustrator and graphic designer, whose work has been featured at the Bologna Illustrators' Exhibition. He's put together some very eye-appealing children's books.
