You'll follow the tiny bee as she leaves her home for the first time and flies off in search of pollen and nectar to share with the other bees in her hive. Along the way the bee will use her powerful sense of smell to find flowers, avoid birds, and, finally, find her way back home. As you read the story of this industrious bee, be sure not to miss the interesting facts that the author includes along with the narrative. You'll discover that there are about 50,000 female bees in a hive, bees are furry, and the hairs assist them to sense changes in the wind, and bees can communicate millions of messages through the dance they do. Children three years of age and older who are interested in nature and insects will enjoy this sweet exploration of the life of a honey bee.
