In all there are 52 large maps presented here that feature all the regions of the globe. The reader will have to scan each map carefully because there is so much worked into the presentation. For example, as you gaze at the map of Switzerland you'll not only see the major mountain ranges, lakes, rivers and cities but also small illustrations of animals like the Alpine ibex and Saint Bernard. Besides noting various sports that are enjoyed in the country, the map also introduces national famous people like Edward Whymper, the first person to conquer the Matterhorn, architect Le Corbustier, and legendary hero William Tell. After fully absorbing all the illustrations that accompany each map you'll have a pretty good idea of some of the things that make each country so unique and special. Although this atlas is intended for youngsters seven years of age and older, any adult who collects maps or is interested in foreign lands will find this book highly entertaining and well worth owning.
