ere's another in this well designed series of board books that introduce children to shapes, colors, numbers and opposites. In this volume a chicken acts as your hostess as she takes you around the barnyard.
F
irst she shows you a flower with a circle for a head. Next it is on to the chicken house which is a perfect square. Inside you'll find a feeding pan for the little chicks with a triangle roof on top.
O
f course, if you are in a chicken house, there will be a few oval eggs. Finally, when you exit the chicken house you'll find a big, yellow star up in the night sky. Flip to the last page in the book and there's a red heart and the chicken and her chicks. Notice all the little heart shaped flowers too.
W
hat's especially nice about this book is that it features a series of tabs with a primary shape on each one. If you want to go directly to the oval page, just use the handy tab.
I
f you feel it is time to introduce your youngster to various shapes, this is an excellent book to start with. Attractive illustrations and easy to manage pages will quickly engage your toddler and make this one of his/her favorite books.
