'Justin wasn't cheering. He wasn't even watching. He leaned his head on his hand and hoped the races would end soon.' When the family got home, Justin's older brother, Jordan, asked what was wrong. 'I wish I was good at something that made everyone cheer for me,' the little boy said. That's when Jordan reminded his little brother how proud the family was when he won a ribbon at the science fair and when he drew such great pictures. Of course, that gave Justin an idea. The next time the family went to watch Jade at a track meet, the little boy had a big surprise that showed everyone that he was not only very good at art but he really supported his sister. A level two reader, this book is ideal for a youngster just beginning to read. The story also addresses a common problem in large families – sibling jealously. Have your child read this book to you and then discuss the things your child is good at and what sets him or her apart from other family members.
