et the fun begin! Here's an innovative board book that features a series of pinwheels that can be spun by using the tab on the side of each one. Seven gaily colored pinwheels are worked into the designs of a steam engine rumbling through a birch forest, a bright sunflower, a school of fish, a very special merry-go-around horse, a dancing kite, a hot air balloon and a rainbow display of color that is reminiscent of a fireworks display.

s you spin each pinwheel it changes its geometric shape, which makes for some eye catching effects. The sunflower is quite dazzling, as is the cover piece and fireworks burst.
T
his book carries a warning that it is not appropriate or suitable for children under three years of age. Actually, the turning of the wheels might be a bit of a challenge for little fingers anyhow, but that should not be an issue with slightly older readers.
B
esides children, adults who collect board books or pop-up books may be interested in this volume. Granted, there are no pop-ups here, but this really is quite a special book and it deserves a place on the shelf with the paper engineered books so many people like collecting.
