A
lthough the book jacket says this book is appropriate for children four years of age and older, I think there are adults who might find it a fun read.
T
he opening statement sets the tone of this picture book. '
If you can imagine things aren't quite what they seem, and dream of possibilities that you can only can dream of, then anything can happen.
'
A
s you turn the pages you'll be asked to imagine a tree house is really a castle and that you can grow up to be either a ballerina or a fireman. The reader is told, '
Believe that no fear is too BIG to face. Believe that you can overcome all obstacles in your path. Imagine the possibilities that await you ... it's all just a dream away.
'
I
n an age when creativity is tied to the computer, television or some type of handheld device, it seems the ability to actively fantasize or dream has fallen by the wayside. The author encourages the reader to stretch his or her imagination and soar. Anything is possible if you believe you can do anything and you explore the possibilities using your mind. That's a pretty good message for a child or adult for that matter!
