That would be just a little bit ... ordinary.' No, dads say 'I love you,' in special ways like making pancakes for you, helping you do chin-ups, and playing in the backyard. When a dad makes you laugh by saying, 'Here comes the tickle bug,' or calls you a silly name like 'mugwump, snickle-fritz or scatterwhomp', that's his way of saying, 'I love you!' A dad also says 'I love you' when he lets you sit on his shoulders so you can see things better, when he takes you out in a rowboat and when he helps you with your homework. There are many different, special ways dads say 'I love you' and, once in a while, a dad might even whisper in your ear those magical words, 'I love you!' But even if he doesn't, think of all the other things he does that shows you that you are the most important person in his life! Dads aren't always the most verbal member of the family, but this picture book shows that a dad has other ways of showing how much he cares.
