book chronicles all the things Jack has to do when he asks his mother if she can make some pancakes. It is Jack's task to assemble all the ingredients.

irst, he must cut some wheat and take it to the miller where the grain will be ground into flour. Next, the boy must collect an egg from the hen house, milk the family cow and churn some butter.

inally, Jack's mother sends him down into the basement to get some strawberry jam and cut some firewood. Now they are ready to make delicious pancakes.
A
simple vocabulary and lots of dialogue and repetition make this a beginning reader that a young child can easily master. After a few read aloud sessions together your child will be reading this story to you!
