aisy loves the ball given to her by her owner. When they go to the park, she takes along her new toy. At the park she meets a large brown dog. The dogs play together and Daisy shares her ball. Unfortunately, the brown dog pops Daisy's ball. Daisy is sad as she and her owner leave the park for home. Any child who's broken or lost a favorite toy will understand Daisy's sadness.

he next day when Daisy and her owner return to the park, the large brown dog is there with a new ball of his own. They play together, but when it is time to leave, Daisy is surprised and excited to be given the new ball to take home.

his wordless book was the winner of the 2012 Caldecott Medal and the New York Times Best Illustrated Book. Chris Raschla's watercolor illustrations are soft and swirly, just right to tell this sweet story about a dog and her new ball.
