This is a whimsical tale of a little girl who is aptly names Zephyr. 'Zephyr loved airplanes. She drew pictures of them, made them out of paper, and built them out of junk. Mostly, she played with them. One day, she hoped to fly one of her own.'

Although Zephyr loved airplanes, her family didn't share her enthusiasm for them. One day when one of her creations did a triple loop-de-loop and flew into a shelf with dishes, Zephyr was grounded and sent off to her room.

When a paper airplane she made sailed behind her dresser, Zephyr discovered a secret door that led to a wondrous room filled with flying machine materials. It was here the little girl found the FS Bessie.

Mounting the antique plane, Zephyr started the engine and was off on a marvelous adventure to the land of flying pigs. What happens next when she discovers her plane can't get her home again is the substance of the rest of this lighthearted story about a free spirited youngster who finally finds her wings.

Everyone knows that pigs can't fly and that little girls can't pilot airplanes but after reading Zephyr's intriguing adventure those assumptions may have to be rethought! This is a thoroughly delightful picture book that children four and older will find an engrossing read.
