H
ello. My name is Henry Korn and I have a new puppy named Charley. When I brought my new puppy home I showed him all around the house.
M
y parents were very clear about where the new puppy could go in the house and who would be responsible for taking care of him.
I
would be walking, feeding and cleaning up after Charley if he had an
accident
indoors. That's fine with me! My Mom and Dad were very clear also about where Charley would sleep. '
Charley will be sleeping in the kitchen,
' they said.
S
o Charley would be comfortable, I fixed up a bed for him under the table and gave Charley some of my old toys. When it was bedtime I stayed with my puppy and made sure he felt asleep. But then, in the middle of the night, I heard something.
I
t was Charley. He was lonely and was crying. I tried to get him to go back to sleep but he wasn't too happy about being left in the kitchen. Since I didn't want Charley to awaken my parents, I had to find some way of keeping him quiet.
I
came up with a solution to the problem, but I'll let you discover what it was when you read my picture book. I think you'll like it a lot because Charley is a really cute puppy and you'll love reading about his first night staying with my family.
