ax and Milo share a bedroom, which is fine, except Max is really tired but Milo, his little brother, isn't letting him get to sleep.
'
Max! Wake up! I can't sleep,
' says Milo.
'
Why don't you read a book?
' Max replies.
O
f course, this just starts a series of problems, such as Milo then needs a reading light, he's too warm, and finally he's thirsty. Naturally once Max gets his little brother finally settled so he falls asleep, Max discovers that he isn't tired any more. He lies in his bed with his eyes wide open.
T
his humorous story about not being able to fall asleep will resonate with children four years of age and older who may have the same problem. It will definitely strike a cord of understanding with siblings who must share a bedroom.
T
he husband and wife team who created this picture book have their own Max and Milo whose antics provided the inspiration for this story. I have a feeling there will be more of these delightful picture books in the months to come.
