his activity book offers lots of things to do that will keep any child busy for hours. Flip open the book and you'll meet three key characters. First there's the Bus Driver. As he explains, he will appear at the bottom of most of the pages in this book and explain to the reader what each activity involves.
N
ext there's the Pigeon. You'll recognize him from the popular series of picture books that Mo Willems has created in the past. Pigeon is a pretty, silly bird.
O
f course, if Pigeon is going to be your guide and help you finish this activity, his good buddy, Duckling, has to be part of this team. He's particularly good at providing comic relief!
T
here's also another character who appears in this activity book. His name is Mad Cow and, as you'll see, he's kind of disruptive in a humorous way.
T
he actual activities include a whole range of things from coloring, drawing, and mazes to word games, constructing finger puppets, and making a map and posters.
A
dults should be sure to read the
Things You Should Know
page that explains how to use the book and what special supplies are needed. You'll need a pencil, box of crayons, some tape, a pair of scissors and a few coins, plus a stapler and some string.
Y
ou'll also notice that the pages are perforated and tear out easily. There are also special storage flaps on the front and back inside covers that will give you a place to keep the pages removed from the book. Clever Pigeon thinks of everything!
N
ot only is this an ideal book that parents will want to keep handy for rainy days, but if you have young grandchildren, Pigeon and his friends could be a real Godsend when they come to visit!
