he story of Cleopatra is the tale of one of the most endearing and famous women in history. The problem with the story of the Egyptian queen is that there is perhaps too much mythology mixed with the facts.

ivided into sections that address the legend of the lady and how it was created, the history of her royal family, her childhood, and the conflicts that threatened her throne, this fascinating book does an admirable job of presenting a balanced picture of Cleopatra.

his oversized volume would be an excellent resource to use before reading Shakespeare's
Antony and Cleopatra
or watching any of the film versions of her life. I think many older readers will also find this an entertaining book.
