The first is the story about the Flying Dutchman. His ship is not one you ever want to see. Sighting the Flying Dutchman is a bad omen. You can be sure that tragedy will follow. My favorite is the story of the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, who was once seen by Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands when she spent the night in the Lincoln Bedroom. Winston Churchill is said to have been interrupted while dressing by Lincoln's ghost. The most interesting thing about this story is that Lincoln himself had a premonition of his death in which he saw people weeping as they went from room to room in the White House. When he asked who died, he was told The President. Stories of The Amherst Poltergeist, The Black Dogs and The Headless Horseman are included. An urban myth, Bloody Mary, ends the book. These frightening hauntings will make good reading on a dark and stormy night.
