T
his laugh-out-loud picture book introduces Big Mean Mike. This Goth looking big dog loves to cruise around town in his big, mean car showing all the other '
bad dudes
' that he's not the dog they want to mess with. No one is as big and mean as Big Mean Mike.
T
hen one day a fuzzy, cute, little white bunny shows up in Mike's car. Quickly and quietly, Mike removes the little bunny from his trunk because everyone knows '
big mean dogs and tiny, cute bunnies did not go together
'.
H
e may have thought he was finished with the bunny episode, but it was just beginning. Soon the little bunny was back with his friends and Mike's car became a hang-out for the cuddly, little fellows. Totally embarrassed, Big Mean Mike didn't want the other dogs to see who was hanging out with him, but that wasn't as easy as it would seem.
E
ventually Mike's
secret
was revealed, but he didn't mind. As you'll see, Big Mean Mike decided to make a statement about who he really was. Besides the humor, this story offers an important lesson about a person's image versus who that individual really is. In Mike's case he still was a pretty fierce dude, but he had his
warm, fuzzy
side too!
