In the past all his friends have scared Sponge Bob so this year he hopes to repay the favor. His buddy, Patrick, suggests that Sponge Bob pretend to be the Flying Dutchman, but the costume doesn't really work too well until the two make some major alterations. Still, the getup doesn't scare anyone until the real Flying Dutchman materializes. When that happens, the fun begins! Longer sentences and short chapters coupled with a more challenging vocabulary make this a book for the superstar reader who is ready to tackle more demanding stories.
