his cut-paper novelty book with its concertina-style fold out presents an unusual and informative way to vicariously visit the U.S. capital. Remove the foldout from its protective case, and stretch it out, and you'll discover some of the famous landmarks of Washington, D.C..

here's Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln and Vietnam Memorials, the White House, Washington Monument and the Smithsonian Castle on one side. On the reverse side of this cleverly designed keepsake is the U.S. Capitol Building, the Supreme Court, the U.S. Botanic Garden, the national Air and Space Museum, The National Gallery of Art, and The National Archives.

ach site is accompanied by a short description and two maps show where each of the pictured destinations is located in reference to other attractions.

ot only is this a nice way to relive a trip to Washington, D.C., but it also is an ideal way of preparing the family for a future visit. And teachers will find the book an excellent visual aid for showing students what some of the major historical sites of the capital city look like.
