' His mother's answer gives vivid pictures that are both poetic and pleasing. For example, she likens fog, a butterfly, snowfall, and a cloud to the coming of sleep.

Sleep comes silently. Like a fog that rolls into a harbor and shrouds the boats in misty gray, making a silence broken only by the clang of buoys.

ayle's illustrations are softly colored and relaxing, just right for the text. Together they make a nice, calming bedtime book.
