The colorful lift-the-flap book invites your toddler to peek behind a curtain to see a bright sun, and peer into a beach bag to find flip-flops, a green hat and sunglasses. Next there's a shiny swimming tub hidden under a towel, a man selling ice cream cones from inside his truck, and some very busy bees collecting nectar from daisies. On the final page, Baby will discover Mommy hiding behind a tree and she will squirt Baby with the garden hose. What fun! Popular with young children, flip-the-flap books challenge the preschooler to manipulate the flap by lifting it up or to the side. The first couple of times through the book, though, it is a good idea to help the child so the flaps do not accidentally get torn.
