If your child is ready to begin reading and loves trains, this may be the perfect book to use to start the process. Short, simple sentences, an easy vocabulary and engaging photos will pull the youngster into the book, and before you can say toot-toot, your little engineer will be reading to you. Trains crossing deserts, rivers and entering mountain tunnels show that this mode of transportation can go anywhere tracks can be set down. You'll also see the interior of passenger cars and learn what the conductor and engineer do, as well as discover that some trains travel underground when they enter large cities.
