n this second novel in K. Bennett's new series starring Mallory Caine, Zombie at Law, dear Mallory has a very full plate. First there's the little boy who claims his mother wants to eat him. Since mom is a monster and a Satanic ritual seems to be at the root of the problem, there may be some truth to the ten year old's claim!
B
esides being caught up in this family of freaks and fire-breathing demons, there's the problem of Mallory's own familial ties. She has to defend her zombie hunting father in court, which does place a little stress on the relationship between lawyer and client.
O
h yes, then there's the ghost of Darren McGavin, who offers to help out in the courtroom and perhaps breathe some life into the proceedings. There's definitely a motley crew assembled for this second installment of the Caine capers, but you'll meet the rest of them when you sink your teeth into this offbeat adventure.
