Here's a quirky but cute picture book about two very close friends – a pair of chopsticks. They have been together forever and are 'practically attached at the hip'. These two have mastered the basic chopstick moves and are developing new skills like spearing asparagus, when disaster hits. One of the pair snaps off a tip.

Quickly whisked away, the injured chopstick is in need of a major repair. After having its tip glued back on, the injured fellow must rest. What is the other one going to do now?

'Listen. You need to get out ... venture off on your own a bit,' counsels the recovering chopstick. Of course, what can a single chopstick do out on his own without his companion?

Well, you might be surprised to see what happens next. Obviously the healthy chopstick learns to stand on his own and when he does come back and share his exploits, it only makes the pair's friendship all the stronger.

You'll love this humorous book (especially the final page that should elicit a few chuckles) and that now serves as a companion to the author's other kitchen utensil picture book – Spoon. As Rosenthal explains, this is not exactly a sequel. No, it is 'more like a change in place setting'!
