The mother crane in this playful picture book not only tells her child how lovely he is but she also expands her praise to other species as well. The 'utterly loverly ones' featured here include a frilled lizard, a baby elephant, some monkeys, a numbat, an armadillo, and even a grinning crocodile. After singing the praises of all these other little creatures, the crane concludes with, 'And how great, how marvelous, how lucky for me that of all those lovely ones, you are my one, my utterly lovely one.' With its springlike palette featuring a range of baby animals, this celebratory book would make an ideal baby shower gift or present for a youngster who celebrates a spring birthday. Or, better still, just purchase it for your utterly lovely one to show how much you love him or her. You can't say 'I love you' too often!
