That wonderful odd couple, Gerald and Piggie, return for another short, humorous episode in this delightful series that features an easy-to-read narrative perfect for young readers.

Piggie is enthralled because he has a new trumpet and he wants to play it for his good friend Gerald. 'Bluuuurrk! Bl-ap! Fr-ip! Br-ip! Vr-ip!' Oh dear, what comes out of the instrument is not right. It is not right at all!

'Yikes! That's not music!' thinks the elephant. 'Piggie sounds like my aunt Molly. With a cold!'

When asked what he thinks of the performance, Gerald is hard pressed to find anything positive to say. 'Your trumpet is loud and shiny and you hold it well – but…that was not music,' he finally admits. 'Sorry.'

Is Piggie crushed by this assessment of his musical skills? Will this be the end of a solid friendship? Will Elephant rue the day he decided to be honest?

No, none of these dire consequences will follow Gerald's truthful reply. You'll be surprised and delighted about what happens next. But, of course, you'll have to get the book to discover what the twist ending is in this delightful story.

If you are collecting the titles in this popular series, here's another for the shelf. As usual, the characters' expressions are priceless and the story will provoke a few giggles! That's pretty much what we have come to expect from Mo Willems!
