The Land of the Living Skies boasts ethnic diversity, with people living there from a number of cultures as distant as Asia and Europe. Canada's bread basket, Saskatchewan's fields produce wheat, flax and barley, and large grain elevators dot the countryside. Tourist attractions range from archaeological dinosaur bone digs, winter sports, and supporting local ice hockey and football teams, to enjoying the RCMP Museum and other cultural attractions in the capital of Regina. After reading this book aloud with your preschooler a few times, the child will have at least a cursory idea of what life in Saskatchewan is like. If you are planning a family visit to the province, this book would be an excellent introduction to some of the things you can expect to see.
