McElderry, 2011 (2011) Hardcover     Reviewed by Bob Walch Bear and his forest friends were sharing lunch one day when there was a wiggle and a wobble in his mouth. 'As Bear nibbled food, something moved when he chewed! It was Bear's loose tooth!' Poor Bear was very upset and he began to cry. 'But how will I eat if my tooth says good-bye?' he asked. Mouse told him not to worry because another tooth would grow where the old one was. Now the task was to get Bear's wiggly tooth out. All the animals tried but to no avail. They couldn't get it to come out. Then, after Bear nudged it with his tongue, the tooth just fell out. That night when Bear went to sleep, he left his old tooth next to him in a bowl hoping the Tooth Fairy would come. Sure enough, she did. When Bear awoke the next day there were blueberries in the bowl. Bear shared his sweet treat with all his friends and while he was eating, guess what happened? Uh-oh! Another loose tooth! Children three years of age and up can sympathize with Bear because they will be losing their baby teeth too. This reassuring story shows that it is perfectly natural to lose these teeth and it doesn't have to be a big ordeal or anything to worry about.
