'The aliens are excited, as tomorrow's Christmas Day. So instead of stealing underpants, they're giving them away!'

If you are like me, you probably totally forgot that creatures from outer space love to steal underwear. Well, no matter because in this wacky picture book they are going to give them away rather than snitch them.

Spaceships filled with little aliens arrive at Santa's workshop where they hand out brightly colored, glitzy undies to all the elves. 'In Santa's busy workshop they cause lots of jolly snickers, When dressing up the little elves in fancy, frilly knickers.'

Not only do the elves have to don this underclothing, but the reindeer are also given neon pants to light their way when they take to the sky to deliver toys. But, alas, Santa's sleigh breaks (perhaps it is because of all the undies the aliens slipped into the toy sack) and it looks like no one will be getting gifts this Christmas Eve.

Fortunately, the aliens help out and transport Santa in one of their spaceships. Of course, as Santa is delivering toys guess who is following him distributing decorative underwear to all the boys and girls? Yup, it's the aliens! They are even leaving some of the undergarments on Christmas trees, bedposts and snowmen.

So, if you find underwear stuffed into your Christmas stocking this year you'll know that 'An alien woz'ere!'

As silly as this story is, it is bound to delight preschoolers who love nothing more than laughing at tales that feature bathroom humor.

What's next? Perhaps Freedman will write a holiday story about flatulent reindeer whose problem blows Santa off course or asphyxiates him.
