As she hurries home through the forest, she sees other animals dashing home or settling in for the winter. Beautifully illustrated scenes show animals taking shelter, including the red fox, a beaver, a bear, a mouse and a raccoon. Fernandes uses only a few words, written in rhyme, but her beautiful illustrations tell the real story. This quiet story can be a bedtime book for preschoolers. Kitten ends up asleep in her nice warm bed. Older children will enjoy the animal art.
