T
his is Kitten's first winter. As she hurries home through the forest, she sees other animals dashing home or settling in for the winter. Beautifully illustrated scenes show animals taking shelter, including the red fox, a beaver, a bear, a mouse and a raccoon.
F
ernandes uses only a few words, written in rhyme, but her beautiful illustrations tell the real story. This quiet story can be a bedtime book for preschoolers. Kitten ends up asleep in her nice warm bed. Older children will enjoy the animal art.
