This board book for youngsters four years of age and older features a red, plastic handle for easy carrying and pictorial tabs so that the youngster can turn easily to the section he or she wants.

Olivia loves to imagine what she'll be one day when she grows up. In this picture book she muses upon five possibilities (an artist, opera singer, surfer, ballerina, and actress). Each career section features a narrative about that particular choice. For example, when she imagines being an artist, Olivia decides to paint her brother's portrait, but Ian wiggles too much. Looking for a more root bound subject, the little pig, in her painter's smock and beret, settles upon some flowers.

A little longer than some of the other Olivia books, this volume also offers a text that is more detailed as well. Although non-readers will enjoy having this read aloud to them, older Olivia fans can practice their reading skills with this book.

To move beyond the text you might also want to discuss with your child other occupations Olivia might be interested in. Be sure to ask why the little pig might want to be a firefighter or pilot. In fact, make up a story about Olivia in that job situation.
