One of the first, and possibly the most widely watched, is Ghost Hunters which follows The Atlantic Paranormal Society, or TAPS. In their first book for middle graders, Ghost Hunt: Chilling Tales of the Unknown, TAPS founders Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, with the help of Cameron Dokey, fictionalize some of their cases for a younger audience. Contained within Ghost Hunt are eight tales of hauntings, most involving children as the ones experiencing the ghosts. The format for most of the stories starts with seeing the haunting from the child's perspective, after which the TAPS team comes in to investigate and then shares their findings. The first parts of the stories are by far the scariest, and this is what pulls the reader in. Also included in Ghost Hunt is The Ghost Hunt Guide, which gives a run down on how to effectively conduct a ghost hunt. This is presented in an easy to read manner and includes a case file test at the end. For some ghostly scares for middle schoolers, Ghost Hunt by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson is a fun experience. Older readers, though, will want a little more thrills and chills to be fully entertained.
