Rereleased as a Classic Board Book, the picture book contains just five words, apple, pear, orange, bear and there. What can you do with just five words? You'd be surprised! As you and your preschooler page through this book you'll see how the featured animal can cleverly change shape to resemble one of the fruits and how he can juggle them and balance them in various ways. Of course, each one will end up in the bear's tummy and then all you'll find left are scraps. This gentle book, with simple illustrations and a creative use of just five words, shows how a picture book can be quite pleasing even though it doesn't have complex imagery or a lengthy text. No wonder this book won the Best Children's Book of the Year from Kirkus Reviews, Publisher's Weekly, and A School Library Journal.
