T
he naughty students in Ms. Jenkins' class look forward to having a substitute teacher to hassle. This teacher is different. Mr. Creacher is green with seven legs and one eye in the front and more in the back, and he's there to teach them what happens to mischievous brats.
I
nstead of lessons, he regales them with stories of kids just like them. There's Keith, the boy who ate so much glue he became sticky and stuck to whatever he touched. There's Sara who crammed so much stuff in her desk that it exploded. There's Zach the daydreamer who almost ate the class hamster, and Kate the girl who brought her monkey to school in her backpack. The most frightening story he tells is how he became Mr. Creacher one Halloween long ago.
M
r. Creacher's rhyming stories make the reading flow and the artwork complements this audacious tale.
