Here's a book that both young musicians, and adults interested in music and instruments, will find fascinating. In this well illustrated volume you'll meet the inventors and innovators who defined American music history.

Who are these people? Well, there's a Turkish immigrant whose last name, Zildjian, is emblazoned on some of the most famous cymbals in the world. Then there's the young man from Germany, Heinrich Steinway, who wanted to make the best piano in the world.

The list continues with such familiar names as C.G. Conn (horns), C.F. Martin (guitars), William Ludwig (drums), Larry Hammond (electric organs), Leo Fender (electric guitars), and Robert A. Moog (electronic synthesizer).

Each personality has a lengthy chapter devoted to the family history and the development of the particular instrument. This book would be a bargain at twice the price and it is one you'll spend hours reading and enjoying.
