Her life is full of laughter, a girl and boy who love her, cat treats, and a dog named Rowf. She's tired and realizes it's time to say goodbye to her family, the girl and the boy, and even the dog Rowf. She says goodbye to all the critters around her country home, the bushes, the pines and finally the blossoming azalea. This short book is impossible to read without tears. In the end, Yolen reminds us that although Tiger Rose is gone, she is 'part of the earth, the air, the sky, the sun – and all.'
