oor Mama Hen. Every time she thinks she has settled down her brood of five chicks for the night, chaos breaks out in their room. As soon as she closes the door the chicks wiggle, jump, giggle and thump as they raise a ruckus in their room.

he door opens, on go the lights, and Mama Hen is back again to try to quell the riot. Once again she tucks them in with a kiss and tells her chicks to '
Please close your eyes!
' But when she leaves you can guess what happens. The chicks somersault and leap off their beds and are soon doing cartwheels on the floor.

ow Mama Hen is really upset. She roars, '
You're all in trouble! Back in bed now, on the double! No more games and no more tricks!
' Of course they obey ... until the door closes. Then what happens? A pillow fight begins!

t her wits' end, Mama Hen then decides to resort to reverse psychology to get her little ones under control. You'll have to read this picture book, of course, to see what she does, but it certainly does work. By the time she's finished, her chicks are more than ready for a good night's sleep. And there will no more mischief when the door closes!

f your child is a little too rambunctious when it is time to say goodnight, this will probably be a story book he or she will love reading. It might give you a few ideas on how to deal with the situation as well!
