M
y name is Rose and I just love playing the dress-up game. Sometimes I pretend to be the Queen of France so I slip on my bracelets, necklaces and my pretty crown. Then I visit my minions and see what they are doing. When I check out my mom she is working out in the garden and my dad is cutting the grass.
I
ask them if they have seen Rose but both my parents say that they haven't. When I hurt myself on a rose bush my Mom is planting, I ask my father if he is the Royal Physician so he can fix the cut but he says, '
No, I am Rose's father.
'
T
hat's no fun. So then I go back into the house and change into my Rose clothing and bandage my own finger. Since I like to switch back and forth, I become the Queen of France again, but my parents don't like to play this game.
A
little tired of the game, I tell my Mom, '
I would like to trade places with Rose. I am tired of being queen. I will be your daughter, and she can be the queen.
'
M
y Mom responds, '
Your Majesty, I am sure Rose would love that.
'
A
s you'll see when you read my picture book, it is fun to pretend to be a different person, but it is probably better to just be yourself most of the time. It is far less confusing that way!
I
f you like to play
pretend
sometimes, I think you'll like reading about me and how I was the Queen of France. There are some really neat pictures of me in the book too!
