How true are they? Well, you'll have to decide that for yourself, but, fact or fiction, they are all a lot of fun. In Moon Mater, our four wheeled hero blasts off into space inside the Space Shuttle and is part of a rescue mission to help Impala Thirteen who needs a tow after getting bogged down in a moon crater. The following tall tale, Monster Truck Mater, finds the irrepressible Mater going into the ring against The I-Screamer, Paddy O'Concrete and Dr. Frankenwagon. Wearing his special blue and red costume when he rolls onto the arena, Mater (dubbed the Tormentor) vanquishes all the competition. Other stories include Mater getting up close and personal with a UFO (Unidentified Flying Object), helping the rescue squad at a fire, playing El Materdor against a huge yellow bulldozer, and surviving a drag race through the streets of Tokyo. With every page featuring plenty of action and eye catching color illustrations, this collection of stories will delight any child nine years of age and older who loves the Cars series of books and movies.
