You'll accompany the author/illustrator as he visits airy elven forests, misty coastal fortresses, and an eerie Necropolis. There are detailed drawings of weapons, armor, and implements used in casting spells, as well as diagrams of various structures found in the different localities. Best of all is the descriptive text that accompanies all these fantastical drawings and evocative color art work. 'I've revisited this old idea to recapture some of the boyish wonder that haunts me, even after all these years,' writes the author. 'Here is my hand-drawn 'door' to another place, inspired by endless daydreams and the light of many minds.' Youngsters nine and older will love the magical door that Ben Boos opens and invites them to pass through. Once they embark on this special journey, don't be surprised if your son or daughter picks up a pen or pencil and follow the author's lead. I know Boos would be delighted if this happened!
