ittle Owl feels safe with his mother, but one day the little fellow takes a tumble from his nest. Now what is he going to do? Then a helpful squirrel comes along. '
Are you OK?
' he asks. '
I'm lost,
' replies the little owl. '
Where's my mommy?
'
O
h goodness, what a dilemma! But the helpful squirrel is determined to help Little Owl find his mommy. '
What does she look like?
' he asks. '
My mommy is VERY BIG. Like THIS,
' explains the owl as he opens his wings wide.

o what does the squirrel do? He takes his little friend to see a big bear. '
Here she is. Here's your mommy!
' says the squirrel. '
No! No! That's not my mommy. My mommy has POINTY EARS,
' responds Little Owl.

hat's no problem. Off they go to see a rabbit with very long ears. No, that isn't right either. Next, it is a frog with big eyes!
O
h no, that's not right either! What a mess. But then frog says, '
Wait a minute. I know your mommy!
' Now we are getting somewhere! So off they go to see what the frog comes up with.
W
ell you might not believe this but, YES!, Frog does actually know Mrs. Owl and she is very happy to be reunited with her little one. In fact, she is so delighted that she invites everyone up to the nest for cookies.
L
iving in a nest, means you have to be very careful so you don't tumble out and end up in the ground. Little Owl now realizes that, because he has learned that being lost is certainly not any fun. As you read about Little Owl's adventure I'm sure you will agree too that it is a good idea to stay close to your mommy and daddy.
