I
f you like counting books I think you'll enjoy this account of a really bad day I had recently. I'm a rabbit (a cute rabbit if I say so myself) and the other day I decided to deliver a birthday card to my sister.
O
ff I went, but I ran into a fox who started to chase me and, as I hopped away, two frogs saw me drop the card. Four birds and five ladybugs tried to tell me I had left the card behind, but on I went. Some ducks, mice, butterflies and even some fishes attempted to let me know what had happened - unfortunately I didn't understand what they were trying to tell me.
A
s you can imagine, when I reached my destination the big question was, '
Where's the card?
' Well, now I had to retrace my hops (we hop rather than step, you know) and the little fishes, fluttering butterflies, mice, and other critters guided me back to where I dropped the card on three wiggly worms' house.
U
nfortunately, guess what? There was one very angry fox waiting for me too. Goodness, gracious, here we go again!
I
f you like to count up to ten and back down again, there are lots of critters you can practice on in my story. I think you'll also learn to be careful when you have something you need to deliver to someone. Believe me, it's no fun if you lose it along the way!
