So many doors in all your days,
so much to wonder about.
Who will you be and where will you go?
And how will you know?
'
T
hese opening lines set the tone for this little picture book that touches upon the possibilities that await a child (or anyone else for that matter) as he or she contemplates the future.
'
Words will open your heart
And kindness will open your soul.
Air you breathe holds the breath of all things,
You are hope that wants to take wing.
You are stronger than you know.
'
A
s you follow the child pictured in the book, you'll see him discover some of life's possibilities and brave situations that might, at first, seem quite scary. But as he learns by the final page, all things are possible because he is loved more than he ever knows.
A
celebration of life's choices and the possibilities that await us, this affirmative book is meant to inspire children but it will be just as effective with adults. The message is simple - you are stronger, wilder, braver and more capable than you ever thought you were, so don't be daunted by life's challenges.
C
ome to think of it, this may be a message wasted on young children. I know a lot of adults who need to be reminded of this!
